FAQ

Quick answers.

Do my customers need to create an account?

No. They can book as guests — just name and email. They'll get an account automatically if they want one later, which lets them see and manage their bookings across any business they've booked with.

Can I have multiple instructors or staff?

Yes. Invite each one by email — they set their own password, log into their own dashboard, manage their own schedule, and connect their own calendar. You stay in control of the business; they handle their own day-to-day.

How does calendar sync work?

Two-way with Google or Outlook. New bookings push to the connected calendar as events; events already on that calendar block customers from booking those times. Set it up once per instructor — works from then on.

Can I take payments at booking?

Yes, via Stripe. Charge full price, take a deposit, or skip payments entirely — your call per service. There's a 2% platform fee on payments you take through GotTime (waived during your 30-day trial). Your customers see it as a "service fee" line item if you pass it through, or it comes out of your payout if you absorb it.

Can I sell lesson packages?

Yes. Create packages like "10 sessions for $400" and customers buy them up front via Stripe. Credits redeem one-per-booking, expire on the schedule you set, and refunds flow through Stripe like any other charge. Packages require a connected Stripe account (the 2% fee applies on the package purchase, not on each redemption).

Can I run a venue with no staff present?

Yes — that's a common setup for pickleball courts, simulator bays, batting cages, and after-hours studios. Customers book and pay online, then get whatever access instructions you set (door code, fob, lockbox combo) in their confirmation email. The slot is held the moment payment goes through; no one needs to be at the venue to take the booking.

What if I don't want to use Google or Outlook?

Calendar sync is optional. GotTime works fine without it — just no events on your personal calendar. You'll still see all bookings in the admin dashboard.

Can I import my existing student list?

Yes. Upload a CSV with name, email, phone, and notes — we'll create accounts for anyone new and link existing GotTime users automatically. Safe to re-upload; duplicates are skipped.

What happens if a customer cancels?

Cancellations are recorded in the admin and the calendar event is removed automatically. Refunds (if you took payment) are handled in your Stripe dashboard for now.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Anytime. Your account stays active until the end of your billing period. Your data is preserved if you want to come back.
